G R E E C E !
After a 50 minute hike winding around a spectacular olive orchard on the
island of Amorgos, I meandered into a tiny village little village nestled
in the hills.
Lots of mucking around popping in shops and peeking into cafes watching
the locals chat with one another, children darting about kicking
a soccer ball.
With the sun setting,
and sipping a little cup of tea,
a spell was cast. As the night progressed, I slipped into a trance
and sat completely mesmerized
by the activity. At a quaint restaurant later that evening, I
happily glued myself to a comfy wooden chair and became enormously smitten
by a group of
greek old men amusing themselves
with idle banter, countless smokes, bottomless drinks and fabulous
folk music.... if
only I knew
what
they were chatting about....most people have a package of smokes, this gaggle
had a carton on the table...

d spellbinding
evening... thank you Sotiris....
