We're floating down the river casually, not
too fast, the breeze from the movement is a beautiful relief from the sweltering
heat and humidity,
and then SHITE, WTF, the boat jolts to a complete stop, backpacks
are flying, people have slammed head first into seats,
my quail eggs smush
between my legs (ask for the story) and then I hear a splash... Uh, the
captain dove into the water an resurfaces
with a bad look on his face, after assessing the damage and checking to see
whether the rest of us are gonna sink or swim,
or maybe we can make it to shore... The
good news is that we weren't going to sink, the bad news was that the shaft,
connected to the propeller was broken. FUDGE CAKE!
within about fifteen to twenty minutes we found ourselves scrambling up the
muddy banks of the Delta with a gaggle of sweet kids waving
in giddy excitement, ahh, the cheerleading team, and oh my gosh, are they cute,
adorable, and giving us a much needed laugh.

adopted daughter number one... ( she loved the camera)
my adopted daughter number two.... ; D ( hee hee, just for a few hours )
and adopted daughter number three... ; D ( hahaha)
it may not be in the cards for me to have children
of my own (sigh),
but for a few hours, I had three little girls who happily allowed me to teach
them the science of appyling lipstick....
They had my heart at hello... ; )
TOTALLY PRICELESS!
what's a girl to do with 15 giddy kids waiting anxiously for you to entertain
them... give them your camera
and attempt to give an impromptu photography class... three of the pix
were taken by the children and they were
captivated by their handywork displayed in the lcd screen. Little hands
eagerly waiting their turn to handle
the magic box. We played an excellent game of charades, explained ( I think)
how to hand shake and say hello.
